WING COMPRESSOR

While Behringer gave us many superb emulated compressors, it's essential to have a flexible and neutral compressor that gives you control over all parameters. The WING Compressor gives you precisely that. Besides the standard threshold, ratio, attack time, and release time parameters, you also get control over the envelope type (linear vs. logarithmic), peak vs. RMS detection, a variable knee, and the hold time. All compressors on the Behringer WING additionally offer makeup gain and an external key source.

This compressor will serve you well for all types of signals, but since the WING offers a lovely palette of analog emulations, you might want to check those out:

• For fast or "on the nose" vocals: 1176
• For a bus or master: SSL 4000G Series Bus Compressor
• For rough sounding bass or kick and snare: dbx 160 or Distressor
